New EdStats Newsletter: Guide to the Data Visualization Bubble Chart Tool
A new edition of the EdStats Newsletter has been released:

Bubble Chart Tool
allows users to watch education data points transition over time in an animated bubble chart.
SACMEQ III Learning Outcome Data for SSA Countries added to EdStats Query
Math and reading learning outcome data from the third Southern and Eastern Africa
Consortium for Monitoring Educational Quality (SACMEQ III)
survey have been added to the Learning Outcomes section of the EdStats Survey.
The query now holds SACMEQ data from 1995, 2000, and 2007 for 14 sub-Saharan African countries.
The dataset includes 18 indicators disaggregated by gender and by highest/lowest math and reading proficiency levels.
2009 PISA data included in EdStats Query
27 indicators from the 2009 OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) have
been included in the Learning Outcomes section of the EdStats Query.
The new data set includes mean scores of 15-year-old students on reading, mathematics, and science assessments conducted
in 34 OECD countries and 28 partner countries. Percentages of students in the highest and lowest proficiency level are
also included for each subject.
