The State of Education: New data analysis presentations launched for educational levels, gender, and literacy
EdStats has launched six new State of Education
data analysis presentations on
Pre-primary education,
Primary Education,
Secondary Education,
Tertiary Education,
Adult Literacy, and
Gender and Education.
The presentations include maps, charts, tables, and Top 10 lists that highlight disparities between regions and
countries in educational access, quality, expenditure, and literacy levels. For those whose research focus includes any of
these topics, these presentations will be a fast and easy source of global data analysis.
New Education Household Survey Module launched
EdStats has launched the new Household Survey module, which presents education data from Demographic and Health
Surveys (DHS), Living Standards Measurements Study (LSMS), and Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS).
The data can be accessed through the new Household Survey Education Profiles module, which includes 186 reports
(121 DHS, 35 MICS, and 30 LSMS) on around 80 countries. Also, users can create customized reports and graphs through
the new ADePT Edu module, which allows users to pull common educational indicators out of micro-level survey data.
UIS data for 2007 is now available
The EdStats Query
and EdStats Country Profiles have both been updated to include new UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) data for 2007 and 2008. Over 150 countries have reported their information for the 2007 school year, and 15 countries have reported for 2008.
