Promoting energy efficiency improvements is a proven
method to help save billions of dollars in energy costs, promote energy
security, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and curb local air pollution.
Energy efficiency is cost-effective but it is also a complex business
with several barriers making it difficult to implement large, multi-sectoral
energy efficiency programs on the ground, especially with small,
dispersed end-use energy efficiency improvement measures. This session
will discuss different practical approaches of scaling up energy
efficiency operations, and showcase real-world projects to demonstrate
what it takes and how the barriers have been overcome to implement large
scale investments in this sector. |
