ENERGY AND TRANSPORT JOINT PLENARY 2: FUEL & FINANCIAL CRISES: ENERGY AND TRANSPORT SECTOR CHALLENGES AND RESPONSES

This second Energy-Transport Joint Plenary Session will discuss the impact of the ongoing financial crisis on infrastructure development, including the development of clean and reliable energy, and affordable transport alternatives, and World Bank Group responses to the crisis, through INFRA, Energy for the Poor and the development of new instruments across the Bank Group, including the IFC and the World Bank Treasury. The session will also include a discussion of the impact the financial crisis is having on oil and gas markets, and downstream effects on consumer use of petroleum products, by Lew Watts of PFC Energy. This session is jointly held with Transport Forum 2009.
