ENERGY PLENARY 5: ENERGY SECTOR REFORM AND PRICING POLICY

The objective of this session is to discuss the current state and trends of global energy sector reform and pricing policies through analysis of selected country cases. Chilean Minister of Energy will present recent policy and institutional reforms aimed at assuring sustainable development of the power sector in the country, after the severe shocks faced in 2008. One of the commissioners at the Electricity Regulatory Commission will describe the reforms of electricity tariffs in Philippines. Relevant cases of pricing policies in African countries will be presented by a World Bank expert from that region.
