Participation in the Energy Week is by invitation only. Advanced registration for invited participants is required to clear security and grant participants access to Forum locations. Location of the Energy Week:

Closest Metro Stop: Farragut West, use 18th Street exit

Security and building access:
Visitors who will be attending the Energy Week should follow the security instructions below.

Go directly to the 1818 H Street, N.W. (main entrance) of the World Bank Main Complex. Inform the guard that you are an external participant attending the Energy Week. You will be allowed to enter the building and directed to a special visitor screening area inside the lobby. Please note that all visitors must have photo identification to enter the building.

If you are having meetings with Bank staff in other buildings, please contact the staff member to arrange a security pass for you. The Energy Week participants badge is for attendance at the Energy Week only and allows access to the Main Complex only.

Computers and internet access:
You may bring a computer into the World Bank, though this will subject you to an additional security check. The serial numbers of the computer will be recorded and a "computer pass" will be issued. Computers cannot be plugged into World Bank Intranet/Internet ports. You may, however, access the Internet through the World Bank's library in the main building, three floors underground (MC C3 level) where there are six computers for external guests.

Speakers:
Although we will load all copies of presentations received into our system in advance of the Energy Week, please bring backup copies of your presentation on a memory stick.

Directions from airtport and metro:

The nearest station on the Orange Line is Farragut West (about 2 blocks from the main World Bank building). The nearest station on the Red Line is Farragut North (about 3 - 4 blocks from the main building). Most trains arriving to Washington, DC arrive at Union Station. To get to the World Bank, either take a taxi or take the Red Line Metro from Union Station to Farragut North. From there, it is about 3 - 4 blocks to the main World Bank building. For more train information, see Amtrak.

Hotel information:

Participants are expected to make their own hotel reservations. We urge you to make your reservations as soon as possible since local hotels fill up quickly. Please click here for a guide to local hotels.
