Welcome to the Energy Week 2009!

The World Bank Group’s Energy Week 2009, held from March 31 to April 2, 2009, is the preeminent gathering of policy-makers and practitioners engaged in the strategic issues of energy and development. Energy Week 2009 was a three-day executive conference at which senior-level energy and finance industry executives, senior donor and developing country government officials, stakeholders and leading-edge thinkers of the energy sector offered new ideas on, and insights into the potential solutions to global energy challenges. The Energy Week 2009 program comprised of nine plenary and twelve parallel sessions. An exhibition of World Bank Group programs, projects and activities was held alongside the Energy Week events. World Bank's Energy Week 2009 was held in conjunction with the World Bank Transport Forum with the objective of strengthening the synergies between the two sectors.

The Energy Learning Week was held from April 6 to 9, 2009, which was open only to the staff and consultants of the World Bank Group.

Energy Week 2009 was carbon neutral for energy use, hotel, and air travel.
