Poverty in Aceh has declined to below pre-tsunami levels.
The poverty level in Aceh after tsunami fell in 2006 to below the pre-tsunami level, facilitated by the end of conflict and reconstruction activities. However, it remains significantly higher than in the rest of Indonesia.

IDIS Center Opens in University of Gadjah Mada

The World Bank and University of Gajah Mada launched the Indonesia Development Information Services center (IDIS UGM) as both a library for World Bank publications and venue for development dialogues among Yogyakarta communities.

Under this new cooperation, the World Bank and UGM will intensify efforts to organize and facilitate seminars and knowledge-sharing sessions with various stakeholders in Yogyakarta, including from local government and civil society. Read More
