Financial Crisis Not to Impact IBRD Lending
World Bank Group President Robert Zoellick assures that the current global financial crisis will not affect the World Bank’s ability to help emerging markets like Indonesia. Loans for middle income countries like Indonesia are made under the IBRD (International Bank for Reconstruction and Development) lending scheme.

| Support to Region for Dealing with Financial Crisis |

The World Bank’s East Asia and Pacific regional vice president Jim Adams has confirmed the Bank’s support for countries in East Asia to deal with the global financial turmoil. “We stand ready to support all of our member countries across East Asia to deal with the challenges arising from the financial crisis,” Mr Adams said. World Bank supports scale-up of successful education program through BOS-KITA (School Operational Assistance – Knowledge Improvement for Transparency and Accountability). Builds on the success of Government's BOS program (Bantuan operasional Sekolah) - BOS KITA is designed to strengthen school-based management and community participation and, as a result, to further improve the quality of education spending in Indonesia.

| New Partnership Strategy for Indonesia |
|
The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors endorsed a new Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for Indonesia which will see the World Bank Group supporting Indonesia’s development priorities, with emphasis on strengthening national institutions. The CPS governs the World Bank Group’s programs in Indonesia over the period of 2009 - 2012.
