Bjorn Van Campenhout is the LSMS-ISA Resident Advisor for Uganda. He is a post doctoral research fellow in the Development Strategy and Governance Division of the International Food Policy Research Institute, based in Kampala, Uganda. His main area of research interest relates to the role of market integration for food security. Another area of interest is poverty dynamics, more specifically related to the role of markets to escape poverty traps. As a member of the Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) team, he has expertise in data entry as well as data checking, cleaning and analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
