Diane Steele is a Household Survey Coordinator in the Development Research Group of the World Bank. She manages ongoing LSMS-ISA work in Niger and is the administrator of the Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) Database. She is responsible for creating, updating and maintaining the LSMS Web site which provides information on existing LSMS surveys, tools for how to implement surveys, and tools for analyzing surveys. Ms. Steele provides technical assistance to the staff in national statistical institutes on the implementation and analysis of nationally representative multi-topic household surveys.
Before joining the World Bank, she researched education issues for various consulting firms and specialized in large scale data collections. She received her undergraduate degree from Miami University (Ohio) and her Master's Degree in Political Science from Michigan State University.
